Hello,

I have a choice between nvidia gtx 560 ti 2gb or amd HD6970 2gb for 2560x1440 resolution gaming. I also want to know if these cards can run them at that resolution, i cannot get sli because its too much for my budget =[.

Thank you.

HD 6970 is more powerful, but it's way more expensive as well. Where are you from and what is your budget?

I think you better get the 7850 it consumes less power and is more powerful

6970. What is your power supply? Is it good enough to drive an HD 6970?

He wants to play at a really high resolution, one where the 1gb 7850 will definitely struggle. I vote for the 6970. :)

The HD7850 is 2GB, GCN cores, better compute and greater future potential at 50w less than an HD6970.

And it comes built-in with a likely 20% over-clock

Just an FYI non of those cards will get you to "Awsome" settings on a 2560x1440 screen You will have to go top tier ALA 7970 or 680 both of your cards you are selecting from will be struggling quite a bit with any AA or details at max.

Okay, my apologies, i dunno why I remembered some graphs of anandtech showing it to lagg behing even the 6950 @ very high resolutions. :pt1cable:  But, ultimately thently is correct. @ that resolution, if the user wants all the glory for atleast next couple of yers, a 7970 is a must if the GTX 680 is not available. :)  GL!!

Well, if you ever plan on going crossfire I suggest a 6970. The 6970 is a mega-beast when you get it in crossfire, although it's not real impressive on it's own.
