Games run Half slower with a CPU upgrade

I have recently bought a Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 Ghz CPU, before that i was using an Intel Celeron E3400 2.6 Ghz CPU.

I have bought Euro Truck simulator 2 that i was playing on the Celeron at about 25-30 FPS on Low settings, and after installing my Core 2 duo the FPS has dropped by half on ALL games.

My specs are:

I have 2GB's of RAM
and im using an Nvidia geforce 8400 GS Card
(I know it's all and worthless, but i want to know why did my FPS drop by half on a Newer, faster CPU?)

Core 2 Duo E6600 is 4 years older than Celeron E3400.

Yes, but everywhere that i read and heard they said That a Core 2 Duo is faster and more ideal for gaming than a Celeron, that it is supposed to improve my gaming experience rather than make it worse.

Depend on which Core 2 Duo to which Celeron.
They still use the Celeron name today but not the Core 2 Duo name.
