CPU and Motherboard Compatibility?

Right, I am going to be building a system over X-MAS, I am a rookie to this sort of stuff and was wondering if somebody could answer this question, I have asked a few friends and they say that it is possible but I don't trust them (LOL).

If I was to get a motherboard with the socket AM3+, And it supports the Athlon II series, Would the Athlon II X4 651K Black Edition with the FM1 Socket fit?

Obviously I have a backup and will just buy the Phenom II 965 Black Quad Core but it's just one of those things in case I decide to upgrade later on.

Why do you thing a FM1 cpu would fit in a AM3+ socket? There is a reason, why the socket name is different. It's because a FM1 cpu needs a mobo with a FM1 socket and a AM3+ mobo needs a AM3+ cpu.

FM1 is for APUs, not CPUs ie for Llano A4, A6, A8 series APUs
