I have a 30 GB file on my desktop and I want to move it to an external hard drive. In Win 7 it just won't go! Cut/paste, move to, nothing. How can it be done?

Try a utility like fastcopy.

If not, it might just be taking a long time. You might just want to wait for windows to finish its stuff.

Is your external drive formatted NTFS?

+1 -- (If formatted under FAT32 the max file size is 4GB and anything over that will not be able to be saved.)
