Dell inspiron charger connected laptop does not go on

The charger when connected to wall outlet (every outlet in the house), the LED brightens up, but as soon as this is connected to a Dell Inspiron, the LED of the charger shuts off, and the lapton does not start whatsoever, tried removing battery and directly plugging the charger, still no result.. Any Inputs on how can I get it started?? Or what may be the problem, Please be explicit!!!

  1. Welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums,
What you are experiencing is a short within the laptop. If you have not disassembled or upgraded the computer and it is still under warranty, you would need to get in touch with the manufacturer or retailer.
If you have added ram or another upgrades (or disassembled the laptop), give it a light shake to see if anything rattles around inside (loose screw perhaps). If you have not disassembled it and are concerned about doing so (and it is no longer warranteed), you'll need to take it to a shop that will work on laptops. If you're very lucky, the short will be in an obvious place (power distribution or input jack) the shop will be able to repair.
If you are not intimidated by the innards of the laptop, you should be able to find YouTube vids that'll help - search there by model number and power repair
    Good luck
