Anyone here know of any problems regarding the use of Lucent Chipset Based Win Modems on VIA's KT133 Chipset Motherboards? I have a 56K modem with the Lucent Chipset and it connects at 33.6bps all the time on my ABIT KT7-RAID. After a short while (about a minute or less) it will either stop responding or disconnect itself. If it stops responding and I go to manually disconnect it through the dialup icon, the mouse pointer will freeze while it is doing so and then it is okay again. I had an ASUS A7V prior to this and it did the same, although I was able to connect at 56K. It never happened on my VIA MVP3 and I got high connects at 53,333bps and no disconnections. Also no IRQ is being shared either, so I am really suspecting a compatibility problem. The external modem I used on the ABIT KT7-RAID works really well and I have experienced no such problems, but it is going back to the manufacturer due to a problem with not being able to upgrade the firmware. So I am stuck with having to go back to my 33.6k modem, which although slower, is not giving me any problems at all.
