Hello there. So recently I bought a Palit Sonic GTS 450 1GB DDR5. Im gonna play at 1024x768 reso with a g620 (2.6ghz) and 4 gb ddr3 ram. So my actual question is, can the card play BF3 at ultra?

I recently purchased a GT 460 to replace a death in my step sons machine. Although he doesn't play BF3, he can nearly max out TF2 @ 1650 x 1050 using an OC'd E8600.

^that's cuz i havent played any games yet coz my gts 450 is still on its way here. so dint really notice any difference lol

It runs like crap, 29 fps? Come on! It's not playable, stutters like hell. And I bet it's without AA.

yea I agree. In multiplayer, if you have 35-40 fps average, when action occurs, you dip into 25s, and basically you won't be able to kill anyone with that. You'd aim for 45-55 fps minimum in multiplayer imo. My own GTX 560 Ti can play BF3 on ultra @1080p in MP, however, it's around 40 fps average, so it pretty much dips below 30 regularly.. I wouldn't call it playable. However, disabling AA does the trick.

well now thats the thing. im not alot into multiplayer. although i do play it sometimes, i mainly play the campaign, and when im bored, multiplayer. so since im a single player-er , i can max out almost any game there is right now, right? or not? and since ima noob, anyone can tell me whats AA?

AA is anti aliasing. It's image quality enhancing technique. Using it hurts performance, but makes the image way more beautiful. I doubt you'll be able to play campaign for long - it's quite short. It's not very interesting either. 9 hours and you're done. And the game is expensive, bad investment if you ask me. Instead you could buy some single player quality games, which you could play for hours. And yes, GTS 450 will max out many games at your resolution - just not all of them.
