I don't know, but whomever designed the 7610's ridiculous keypad should be
shot... see also Nokia 3650.

Actually the 7610's keypad is really nice and comfy, better than
the 6600, it's okay slanted but is totally fine.
The only downer really is that it uses RS-MMC's that are smaller
and more expensive whilst the normal MMCs the 6600 and
3650 uses can be up to 256MB cheap.
Though I would also like to know about the 7610's availability
in the UK, I fancy a phone upgrade myself...

I dont know about the UK networks as I bought mine offline in the UK. I
find the keypad absolutely brilliant. And the design is fabulous. It is a
much better phone and they have sorted out the problem with ringtone volume.
I now use the "Nightmare Fever" and its ringing is ear blistering. Its much
faster than the 6600 and very slim and has a very comfortable feel to it.

The 256mb rs-mmc are about £50 which is not too much more expensive than the
mmc for the 6600.

I disagree. Even though the keypad looks a bit different, it's actually
quite normal when typing messages et cetera. For me it's been even better
than keypads of 3660, 6600 or 7650. I've used the 7610 from the end of May
now.

Seconded.
It's actually the most natural design - especially for one handed
use..........
The 7210 was particularly bad - hence the 6610 shortly afterwards (ditto
3650 to 3660).
