Cant write to sd card in computer

I try to transfer pictures to a SD card in my computer a message comes up "card is write protected". The switch is in the unlocked position and the card is unlocked.
I format the card before I put it into the card reader.
I have a new Sony card reader and I have no problem reading the pictures

can you format the card from windows ?

Try the card reader on another computer and see if the problem occurs. If it works on another computer then you know the problem is not with the card.

When I format the card in computer I get the same message "Wright Protected"
