Linksys WRT54gl network disappeared

Bought this router a couple years ago and have had absolutely no issues up untill last night. My gaming computer is hard wired and I have a network set up for laptops. Bought a new laptop the other day and connected to the network via network password and then went to do the same this morning and the network is no longer there? Instead there is a generic linksys network that is not password protected. Another user came home from work and tried to connect and got the same thing.

Sounds like the wireless network is no longer secure? Wondering what could have happened and how to fix it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Would like to get my network back to being secured

sounds almost like someone reset the router to manufacturer default by pressing the reset button for to long.

Thx for your response Emerald.....not sure what happened

Googled it and came up with a solution that allowed me to get into the settings through my web browser and reset the security settings.
