I have a question

if i was to get an intell prosesor ivy brige or sandy brige 4 - 6 cors and was not planing on overclocking would the fan and heatsink that comes with the cpu sufficient

  1. Absolutely yes, the stock coolers are meant for the CPUs to run stock, however I notice some cooler's performance deteriorate around 2-3 years and start to have really high temperatures. So for no overclocking it is fine.

    About the only times you need to use a 3rd party HSF (heatsink/fan) with the 2nd and 3rd generation Intel® Core™ processors is when you are going to be overclocking or when you are going to be trying for a quiet system. Maybe you might also have a need for a 3rd party HSF if you are looking for a thin form factor case.
