Ok, having some trouble here. I can not get my 8350 to post. When I install my PII 970 it will post fine yet I am getting insane temperture fluctations. Idle at 43/46 C and load of 65 C +. Before I started to swap chips, it would idle 28C and never above 50C under the most demanding loads. I have updated my BIOS support Vishera. I have reseated my HSF 3x now to see if that was the issue. Also, tore down, cleaned, and rebuilt my computer. It did not work. Sort of at a loss here.

When reapplying thermal paste makes sure not to use to much or to little. As far as the 8350 not posting that sounds like a mobo bios issue even though you flashed a new bios for Vishera. I would contact Gigabyte technical support about that issue.

If your not sure of what revsion you have. Download cpu-z and look under mainboard.
It will also let you know what BIOS version you have.

I have a ver. 1.0 board. Flashed F9 BIOS update as reccomended by GIGABYTE. I have already checked in multiple locations to make sure F9 BIOS is what is running. I have seated tons of HSF before and have never had an issue.

Thanks, this did the trick. Also, my HSF fan was not making contact with my CPU explains the high temps. I replaced with a new HSF and now idle is around 12-16 c.
