I just bought a new PSU to use with my HD7970 OC edition. The problem is the new PSU has one cable that doesn't fit anywhere. I realise now i had the wrong board for the PSU. The cable I needed to plug in is a 6 pin female. I could not find a 6 pin male socket on my board, only a 4 pin. I feel like a noob for assuming it would all fit.

Anyway I need to know what kind of board i need to use my Corsair 850w PSU on?

I plugged everything in except the one cable. The main board has a 4 pin ATX 12v socket. Thats what I'm getting at. The ATX power socket. The PSU only has the 8 pin power plugs.
