When I connect my laptop to our wireless router at home, our network comes to a crawl while my husband, and daughter are connected wireless, and even drops his call...any ideas

Are you doing anything to take all the bandwidth, like watching streaming videos?

What does VPN have to do with it? Are you connecting to your work with VPN software?
