Nvidia and ati together on one motherboard

Hello,
I have a nvidia 550 gpu, and I wanted to get a Radeon 6600s series and put it on my gigabyte 990fxud5 motherboard, will this cause problems, and can it be done?

dont do it. it really cant be done effectively.

It can be done, and in most cases no problems will be met, but the only reason for that would be if you wanted more monitor outputs or a PhysX card, but since the 550 is more powerful than a 6600 series card, there's really no reason for that otherwise.
