The main specs at least are the same. They are both gaming laptops. Try looking into support at both companies....

Better yet, see what the local chain store has available. Having good local support while you are at college is way more important than anything else.
  2. well im going to college at a school thats 7 hours away and I'm probably going to be purchasing it before I get there but the MSI has a two year warranty and the Lenovo only has a 1 year
  3. what you are paying for is warranty, build quality and the hdd

    750gb 7200 rpm speed vs 1tb 5400rpm
  4. So which one has a better build quality? and im not sure how much it matters but the 1tb is two 500gb hard drives on raid 0
  5. both are fine companies, msi is more experienced with higher end gamer builds than lenovo is. but both are fine companies. lenovo was a branch of IBM when ibm still worked on computers.
  6. Ok thanks I'm leaning towards the Msi because by the time I actually buy it I'm pretty sure the lenovo sale will be over
  7. Makes sense.
  8. Yeah the lenovo is currently a much better deal than the MSI laptop, especially if you swap out the hard drive for a caviar black or similar.
  9. I'd got with the msi since the resolution is also superior.
