HI GUYS

i am looking to build a new pc for myself something thats fast and great for gaming and would like to know what parts i should get, i have a budget of around £800. i am looking to buy

(1) harddrive size isnt really and issue just big enough to run windows and afew games from.

(2) ram

(3) motherbaord

(4) cpu

(5) gfx card

i am currently running a radeon hd 5870 1gb do you think it would be more cost effective to buy a second 1 of these and run them as SLI or to just buy a new card as not sure what would be more powerful.

i am not interested in overclocking so am looking for fast and powerfull straight out the box,

thank for any help

hi

my current bulid is gigabyte ga-ex58-ud5 mobo, i7 920 cpu, corsair 3x2gig 1600 matched ram, hd radeon 5870, 800 watts thermaltake psu, western digital velociraptor harddrive, but this system is getting past to the kids machine,
so i am looking to replace the gfx card, cpu, ram, mobo, and harddrive on this system.

You can certainly reuse your case and PSU.

If you're going to upgrade here's what I would recommend for £800:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor (£173.94 @ Scan.co.uk)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (£26.65 @ Scan.co.uk)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H ATX LGA1155 Motherboard (£119.75 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Kingston 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory (£53.99 @ Overclockers.co.uk)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 2GB Video Card (£239.99 @ Overclockers.co.uk)
Total: £614.32
(Prices include shipping and discounts when available.)

my current mobo is a tri channel board for the ram. what has happened to the tri channel boards as they now all seem to be just dual. why are they now just daul channel isnt tri channel supported anymore?
