I hear people saying that I need DDR to improve performance on 266fsb boards, but why?
In Q3A with an identical systems except one is SDRAM pc150 CAS2 and the other is pc2400 CAS2 DDR, at 1024x768 the difference was only 5 frames!!! same with RDRAM!!!! Anyone can tell me now why should I go for a new DDR mobo?

More about : ddr

SDRAM is at it's limit. You will not get any more performance gains out of that memory with higher clocked processors- but with DDR you will. SDRAM is old. It's going the way of the dodo. DDR is not that much more. DDR also shows bigger performance gains in things other than Quake 3. Do whatever you want, but I'd personally spend a little more and get DDR.
