You heard about Eizo relasing a new series of flatpanels but you havent seen them anywhere?
Well, somehow an editor for a swedish computer magazine got hold of L557, the 17" monitor in the new series. He compared it to sevral other 17" flatpanel monitors and it was the winner of the test. The difference beetween the eizo and the samsung that came at 2nd place was that the eizo had a better stand and more features.

What can i do to make the L557 avaliable on the market?
Maby we should all mailbomb eizo or something like that.
Or maby not.
I really wnat this monitor!
I'm so frustarated because of this!

The L557 was released by Eizo recently in May '03. It's supposed to replace the L565. I guess it's just that most vendors don't want to stock new models before they clear out the old models considering the fact that Eizo monitors are very expensive. BTW, the L557 is widely available here in the Fast East.

I contacted Eizo UK recently about this model (557). I was told that it would be released here about middle to late July, but that for colour critical uses (e.g. Photoshop) the L565 would be better.

Yeh, you're right. I'm using L565 which its display is just splendid.

The exact wording from the guy at Eizo was:

"The L565 is going to be a better option for your purposes as the colour reproduction is superior to that of the L557, so for Photoshop I would recommend the L565."
