Will my upgrade work?

I've decided it is time to upgrade my system with the following upgrades. My plan is to hang on to the current mboard (P5B) and RAM and upgrade pretty much everything else. Do you think it will all work without any compatibility issues? I have added hyperlinks to all the items of note to make thing easier. If I have missed anything please feel free to ask and I will provide the details.

Base System (retaining these):

ASUS P5B
2x1G 800mhz 4-4-4-12 G.Skill RAM


Upgrades:

Antec 620w ATX PSU
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz L846C 1.175V SLB8V LGA775 CPU
2x2g 800mhz 4-4-4-12 Gskill RAM -To add to the current 2x1G. (So 6G total)
ATI Radeon 6870


PS - please go easy on me, this is my first upgrade attempt and I am still only learning

You only have 2 gb of ram so it will be actually almost cheaper to get a new 8gb set

Do not I repeat not get that cpu Get a i3-2120,i5 2500k or i7 3820 depending on budget if you can go 30 dollars more on the gpu get the gtx 480 but the 6870 is a great card for the i3-2120 if you get the i7 the 6870 will bottleneck it.

Don't listen to the guy above, Q9550 is a perfectly good CPU to game.

A 6870 is fine and you can run it without any bottleneck, however if you OC' it to about 3.4 GHZ it could probably run a 7970/GTX 680. Just no CF/SLI.
