Hello, I just got done building a new PC and it seems my i5 3570k is running too hot. I'm getting about 40C idle and 56C with a 99% load for 5 minuets. Voltage is around 1v to 1.1v. I'm using the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO cooler. I installed an additional fan. I'm using a push pull setup, pushing cool air from the front, and pulling warm air from the cooler. I'm running the CPU stock, no overclocking. My motherboard is a Z77X-D3H from Gigabyte. Current BIOS, F16. Using IC Diamond 7 thermal paste, just put a pea sized dab in the middle of the CPU. I have a Corsair 400R Carbide case. Room temperature is about 70F. Thank you for your time.

Your idle temperatures are a little on the warm side, however, your load temperatures are perfect.

Just to make sure, are your idle temperatures 100% idle? (Not even a web browser open).

My Idle temps are usually 40 c on the i5 3570k as well,

don't know if this is normal........

Sometimes when I'm using a browser, it gets to 43-50c

When I test the CPU, it was getting 65-75 c on the Intel Extreme Utility.

My room is about 85 to 90 I guess, im running stock fan

^ Sounds completely normal on the stock cooler. The Intel Extreme Utility will put an unrealistic load on your CPU so you can expect temperatures to get a little hot.

These are my temperatures at the moment; My current temperatures (40C's) are with a web browser open and nothing else.

Idle temperatures are 100% idle.

All the screws are 100% tight, correct? Though, I wouldn't be concerned. Your temperatures are very acceptable.

Yes, all screws are 100% tight. I understand my temperatures are acceptable. I feel that because I have the Cooler Master 212 Evo, and the IC Diamond 7 thermal paste, I would have lower temperatures. I've read about people getting about 10C cooler @ idle, and full load then me with the Cooler Master 212 Evo. I feel that something has to be wrong.

Well i have a max room temp of 33*C in summer and my idle temp used to be 38 to 45*C depending on the core.

Current ambient is about 25*C, and my CPU cores are running at b/w 28 to 34*C.

I have the EVO too.

If you've just built it recently then it's fine. The thermal paste will take some time to reach its full potential.

EDIT: Running a Core 2 Quad Q8400, no o/c.

I have the same CPU+MB+EVO :D  Although my thermal paste is from coolermaster.

And your temps are the same as mine. My normal room temp in winter (now) is around 23ºC...
