Overclocked cpu buzzing noise then shuts down

I have an i7 3770k overclocked to 4.2ghz on a maximus gene v. when i convert files my cpu makes a buzzing noise, which is louder when i move my mouse and sometimes shuts down. My build is Thermaltake Chaser MK-I Full Tower Gaming , Thermaltake 750W Modular Power Supply. 80+ Bronze , Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme and Crucial 32GB kit DDR3 1600 MPN: BLS4KIT8G3D1609DS1S00.

More about overclocked buzzing noise shuts down
  1. temperature?
  2. temps only reach 31 degrees celcius
  3. If you decrease the clock a little does it still make the noise and shut down?
  4. if i drop it down to 4.0ghz it stops
  5. Are you messing with any of the voltages at all?
  6. no letting the software do it
  7. Could be a defective powersupply that can't handle the load required past 4.0GHz. Can you borrow another powersupply from a friend to test it out?
