Hi all,
Been awhile since I've been here. I built my system a little less than 2 years ago. P4P800 deluxe, P4 2.4c O/C 3.0, 1gig OCZ PC4000, Radeon 9800 non pro O/C, 2 Maxtor 60gig HD in raid 0 (not SATA). The system has been stable. I leave the computer on all the time and have very few problems. Lately I have been turnng the computer off when I liten to music to get the room quieter. When I reboot the computer I have problem with windows being corrupted. usually scan disk will fix the problem. Sometimes I have to boot from backup HD and run scandisk from there. The funny thing is I tried setting the CPU back to 2.4 and the system became really unstable then. I have tried setting my memery timings to the lowest settings. Nothing seems to work. Like I said the system seems stable until I reboot. Any ideas?

First place to look would be the hdd. Go to maxtor's website, and get thier hdd checker. If that turns out fine, download memtest86, and run that.
If that's fine, download mbm5, and check your voltages.

PSU is probably going bad

ASUS P5WD2 Premium
Intel 3.73 EE @ 5.6Ghz
XMS2 DDR2 @ 1180Mhz

Why PSU? You think when the ubit is powered down for awhile and restarted the voltages are off?

ASUS probe says +12v = 11.916, +5v = 4.784, +3.3 = 2.216, vcore = 1.568

I paid $100 bucks for this PSU

>+3.3 = 2.216,

I hope that is either a typo or a misreading? If not then this is most certainly the cause of your trouble. Could still be the PSU or the MB though.. check your caps-> www.badcaps.com/ident if they are fine, it should be the PSU.

I'll have a look at the caps. I never would have thought of that. Thanks.

I thought that Intel chips were now using the 12v rail for the v-core.
That low a voltage on the 3.3 rail would cause major memory problems, esp at startup. Looks like a psu problem. Just the same, logging on mbm5 would give a good second opinion.
