My stock powersupply is extremely loud. I've been looking all over the 'net for loudness comparisons of different 300W powersupplies. I haven't found a thing.

What I'm wondering is how a SPI (Sparkle) or Leadman (powmax) powersupply compares to an Enermax in terms of noise. Enermax's seem to have the most press about how quiet they are.

Will the lower end supply be dramatically quieter than my crappy generic one?

Have a look <A HREF="http://www.quietpc.com/psu.html" target="_new">here</A>

Its 300W, runs very quietly, and the price is fair.

I recently installed a Sparkle Power supply.
Model FSP300-60BT(12V) with Fan Noise Killer.
I don't know what Fan Noise Killer is but the unit runs very quiet. Plus my case temperature has dropped using this model.

I would reccomend the enermax whisper series. They are really quiet. I have a regular enermax and it's pretty quiet too, but the whisper ones are hardly audible at all.

That oughta void your warrenty!

I could be wrong, but since it's been two weeks, he's probably already got a power supply sitting in his computer.
