Building a Desktop for gaming

Hey,
To start off, here's my plan for the Desktop:

A motherboard that supports an i7 processor(Quad core preferably)
or
AMD with 8 Cores

(But my friend says that i should get a i5-2500k ; Since it's good with rendering) - I'm also looking for smaller prices.

For GPU and Data storage, im not quite sure-

To use double GPU; Have an 64GB SSD + 2TB HDD or 480GB SSD

- But the most important question would be for me here, is: What should i invest in the most? What is the component, that would require the most of my budget?

    the gpu will cost up too double the price of your cpu generally for a decent rig, there is no point going further than an i5 2500k or the ivy alternate they can be faster than the i7s in games even and avoid amd cpus for gaming too
  3. Start off with a HD 7850 or better, an 80+ certified PSU and work from there for best results for a gaming rig ^^ Budget plays a big part as well
  4. Budget is around 800 Dollars.
  5. Thanks guys! I've got the general idea. Now i know where to start.
    Right now, since my budget has reduced significantly, i just upgraded my laptop with an SSD;

    I should've had kept the money, because i cant do much with my current GPU.

    THANKS!
