Cpu and mobo check

HI, I'm building my second budget gaming pc. This one is for my friend.

Due to budget and cash flow he (with my help) have been buying parts in various online sales etc.

So far we have

-8 gb of corsair 1600 vengeance ram
-TX 650w corsair psu
-ASUS Limited Edition Gold amazing Axe Square cpu fan (one I use myself)
and a atx case (with good airflow and features)

I am thinking of adding these

-AMD FX-4170 AM3+ 4.2GHz 12MB 125W cpu

-Asus M5A99X EVO AM3+ AMD 990X SB950 DDR3 ATX

I have checked and the ram, board and motherboard they are all compatable.

Wondering if any one had any experience with the motherboard and cpu.

The cpu is not the best for gaming a i5-2500k would be better.

I would get the GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 mobo

You need a video card if you are gaming what is your budget for that?

the Asus M5A99X EVO AM3+ is compatible with the AMD FX 4170, but it may need a bios update to function. this usually requires a supported CPU to be installed to update the BIOS to support the FX CPU.

for gaming I would go with the below, its about £5 more but will be well worth it.
