Geforce GTX 580

I am looking at an EVGA 580 classified video card, is it stupid to spend 550 bucks on this card that I hear is very stable or is it really a gamers preference to use the ati 7970 which I am leary of because I hear they have crashing issues in games. I have an acer monitor and I run 1900x1080 resolution for everything. I really wish I could get my hands on a 680 but they are all gone

I went with the 580 nvidia card, my pc gets a 6700 3DMark11, good card still surprised that I can't max out everything in test drive unlimited 2 tho, only world detail I have to leave on high not very high to keep framerates above 60 fps. anybody want to chime in on what their rig is and there 3Dmark11 scores? I would like to turn this into a general discussion thread.

Unoptimised console port, so no worries there mate

Any racing game reccomendations?
