6950 or crossfired 6870

i have one 6870 already so i would be putting it in my older computer.

Why would you get one 6950 if you already have one 6870. CF the cards even if you have to buy a new PSU it is way more powerful than one 6950.

+1^^ 6870 xfire has driver issues as well as microstutring. single 6950 would be a vise choice

There is no driver issue with CF 6870, either get another 6870 or go bigger than a 6950.

EDIT: No driver issue that doesn't apply to all AMD cards, that is.

Odd question but why are we recommending the 6xxx series? The 7xxx series is here and offers gains, which though not giant are substantial still.

Oddly enough toms' benchmarks for most games place the 7850 around the 6950. Plus you do get better power and heat ratings, so presumably less issues on the psu.

Though if money was not an issue I'd plump for the 7870 (errmmm and i just did :)
