Problem with new build

Hello I just recently built a new rig

Sapphire 7870 OC
Corsair Dominator Platinum 1866 2x4gb
Seasonic X760 760W
Seagate Barracuda 500gb 7200rpm
Corei7-3770k
MSI Z77 Mpower Bigbang
23' 1080p Samsung

Now the problem is my BIOS lagging pretty bad, I already downloaded the latest BIOS update, the latest UTILITY and DRIVERs and still the problem persist

The only old thing in my rig is the Sapphire 7870, I was using it in my former rig i7-920 which it windows indexed at 7.9, now when I window index it in the new rig with the corei7-3770k the assessment is 3.5 (Desktop Performance for windows aero) the BIOS lags, the MSI LOGO at the start of the boot also lags, the Windows logo also lags and the desktop isn't as smooth as it should be

What could be the problem?

Hi, The next step would be testing a different graphics card and see if still the sme. Can you borrow one? This way you'll know if it's a board-CPU issue or a GPU one.

I tried what you told me and surprisingly the rating of my Sapphire 7770 Vapor-X is 7.6 on both index, it seems to me that my power supply can't power my 7870?

This was my old rig

Corel7-920
intel DX58SO
seagate 500gb
8gb kingston DDR3 ram
cougar CMX 700w

when I bought the second one I was going to exchange the 7770 and the 7870

So still i dont understand why the current rig is having problem with the 7870

It might be a BIOS issue, but you can find similar setups on the Internet. Try reinstalling the card. Make sure it is properly inserted.

I've reinserted the 7870, the indexing became 5.9/6.3 with improved performance, but still it should be 7.9, I already downloaded the latest BIOS update for the MSI board, and all drivers and utilities.

Try cleaning the pins. Can you test in a different PCIe slot? I still think it's a bad contact issue.

I already cleaned the pins as well, haven't tried other slots i'll try it now
