Significantly better in most likely every aspect.

For gaming... probably in excess of at least 20%.

Cheers for that info.

What about Q6600 vs Intel Core i5-3570K?

Moving to a new i5 vs a q6600 is about 2-2.5x better in nearly every benchmark. I made the move last winter and it was a HUGE performance increase.

Generally speaking, assuming same # of cores and same clockspeed....

1st generation Core i3/i5/i7 CPUs are on average almost 12% more powerful than C2D / C2Q CPUs.
Sandy Bridge (2nd gen) Core i3/i5/i7 are on average 12% more powerful than the 1st gen CPUs.
Ivy Bridge (3rd gen) Core i3/i5/i7 are on average 6% more powerful than Sandy Bridge CPUs.

If you know how to multiply, then you can calculate the rough performance increase.

assuming your not bottlenecked by your graphics card you can assume a 2x increase in maximum FPS.

Before going for the upgrade, why not trying to OC a bit.
Q6600 should have no problems hitting 3 or 3.3 GHz :)

BTW: what is your system full specs...GPU, RAM, etc.?
