I have recently built a computer but never purchased a video card because i wasnt sure on which one i would want. From my work, i was able to get 3 monitors and there resolutions are all 1280x1024. What graphics card could i use that would be able to run games like battlefield 3 across all 3 monitors.

Thanks

Well doesn't matter if you're in a low budget 'cause the only graphic card that would handle bf3 in 3 monitors (very smothly) is the gtx 680, you could actually play at higher resolutions like 1600 or so. Regards

I'm running 3 24" Acer S242HL LED 1920x1080 monitors in Surround for a combined resolution of 5760 x 1080. I was lucky enough to snag a new 680 GTX. For 1280 x 1024 monitors your combined resolution would be 3840 x 1024 so you won't need such a powerful card. HOWEVER, your connections matter. Are these monitors DVI? For 3 monitors on 1 video card The only Nvidia card I know is the new 680 GTX. For AMD you would run Eyefinity and from the 5800 series and newer you should be able to hook up the monitors. Tell us more about your rig.

I've run 3 monitors on both AMD Eyefinity and Nvidia Surround. I'm hardly an expert but I'll be glad to answer your questions more fully. Email me at skline00@comcast.net with more questions and your phone number. If you are in the US I can call for free Comcast.

wont 3 GTX 680s be an overkill given that he is only running each monitor at 1280 x 1024.

But yeah the answer would lie in which rig and budget the op has

Wow no don't buy 3 GTX 680s. That's overkill and a huge waste of money. If you wanted to to game Max settings across 3 1080p monitors with the highest most intensive AA, AF and AO on then i could see buying 2 GTX 680s. That's if you want to spend $1200+ on just video cards....like the above said its overkill now wont be in 2 years. Tri and Quad SLI are for bragging rights.

There's other lower prices options that can run 3 monitors without problems, you just wont have all the bells and whistles turned on to max.

Wow, thats beyond overkill. unless your running the 2011 intel socket anything over 2 gpu's is a waste of money. And even with the 2011 your not really getting that much boost using a 3rd gpu, but at least theirs some performance gains using 3 gpu's on a 2011 socket vs any other socket.

theres only 1 rig set up (2011 socket) thats worth having a 3 way sli set up on and even that really isnt worth a 3rd gpu over having 2 gpu's. if you want to suggest something thats useful and also expensive, something that will kick the crap outta 3 way 680's and cost a ton, suggest him running 2 ASUS Mars 2 gpu's
