3 beep sounds in computer system halt error

what is the problem if we will get the three beep sounds in the computer and get the message on the monitor"system halt error message"

Is it one long and two short? What motherboard?

1. the memory is not seated right with in the memory slots, take them out and re seat each one making sure the locks on each side of the stick latch.

2.The memory has failed and the system cannot read it.
3. The graphics card if in the Pci-e, or old type Agp slot is not seated right in the socket, check and make sure it is sitting right in the slot.
