First Build. Bad Stick of Ram? Boots with one only.

I just began building my first new self build. Followed the new egg video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_56kyib-Ls . Put motherboard on cardboard box and plugged in power supply, b/u power supply, graphics card, motherboard speaker, and both sticks of memory. Wouldn't boot. Tried both in blue, both in black, no boot. Tried one stick only and it boots, but not if I swap to the other stick. Boots in blue or black slot with the good stick. So have I verified that the one stick is bad, or could it be something else. Thanks.

Yes, I would RMA the memory kit.
