Are intel core i5 3317 u processors good for gaming

Thanks for the quick reply, some body told me that intel core i5 3317 u optimized for low power consumption and so the performance is not enough run the most demanding games (The Witcher II for example)

its one of the good cpus for laptop it can handle demanding games too why are u getting a laptop for gaming why not a pc laptops are not upgradable

If desktop i would prefer AMD over Intel chipsets mate... its always good to have and fully functional all core rather on reserved one..
overclocking on AMD is potentially more powerfull in FX series. AMD 3+ 41x, 61x, 81x with proper graphic card can you really blazing speed and mind blasting performance...

If laptop i will give it a drop on gaming...

neither will help you much in gaming. your gpu will be weak. Actually an A8 paired with a discrete card might be better.

AMD's do not perform better than intels, they are however cheaper. but we are on laptops here, and low voltage cpu's at that.

games like battle field or call of duty black opes can not be played with this configuration ? actually I am buying Ultra book envy6

amd cpus performs better then similar priced intel and had overclocking advantage which will make the chip more powerful intel only wins in gaming and singlethreaded performance i m not comparing an fx 8350 to i7 i m comparing to i5
