my goal was to make a gaming computer somewhere in the 1-1.5k price range. This is what I have come up with and I am pretty darn happy with the performance I have gotten for the price.

Now I just really need advice of any shape or form if this build will actually work together if i made some bad choiced etc etc... this is my first time trying to build a computer so I could have messed up a plethora of things.

please please please. any advice at all is appreciated I don't want to commit to building a rig if I'm not sure it's going to work .

Why did you select a Z77 motherboard? A Z68 is a better choice. Z77 should only be used on IB Processor. No need to pay extra for a Z77 board with an i5-2500k since the Extreme3 Gen3 is a lot less in price.

No need for a Caviar Black when http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148840 is just as fast. You have enough room in the budget to get an SSD. Grab http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226318 as it is very reliable and very fast.

With that being said, since the SSD already stores your OS and some games, for storage, a Green drive is a better idea as it is very cheap per GB. Get this HDD.

I've seen a lot of this happening lately. If you're getting Z77 - get the 3570K. If you're using i5-2500K get Z68.

I can't see the links for that reason - they're not working for me.

I, too, stated that the Z68 Extreme3 is a better choice. :p
