Hi

My PC will not load Win7. message pop-up after boot stating "missing operating system".
treid to recover from Win7 installation DVD. could not do a repair as the installation does not identify and Win7 installation. when trying to re-install, I noticed that the the free space on the target HDD is 27.5G out of 149.5G. i suspect HDD failure. maybe sector 0. If this is the case, how can I recover the faulty HDD without formating?

you could try to boot of a Linux LiveCD

turned out to be a CMOS/BIOS issue.
