Not really.

Notice that the DDR5 version is at the bottom of a simple game like D3. Notice that it also can't give you at least 30FPS at 1080. As a gaming card I think it really blows, and god help you if you have the slower DDR3 card. You are really going to want a GTS550 or the 5770/6770. Stick to those cards as the minimum for gaming machines.

6770 is absolute lowest to go on most modern games. It will *barely* run BF3 at 1080p with all details to low. I'm living it right now...

Unless you're gaming at 1024x768 then you will probably be dissapointed with the performance on games released within the last few years.

However, if you are considering older games then you will have much better results. You can use these older charts below to go back and look at benchmarks for older games.

It's not all bad. There are some real gems out there that were released over 5 years ago and back.

True Desert, but most play newer games. I myself was just fine with my 5750 as I only play TF2. Anticipating Diablo 3 however I've upgraded my GPU so I can play that. I wish toms had their D3 article out before I did however as the 5770 > 6850 > GTX460 has blown my mind.

For some reason I got the impression he already bought the GT 440 and wanted to know what he had available to play.

If you haven't already bought the GT 440 VYZZAL, then I would wait and save a little more for a better card. It's a pain to wait but that card would seriously limit what modern games you could play.
