Hi,
I have an older motherboard ASUS P5AD2-E Premium with a Pentium 4 550 3.4 gigahertz LGA 775 cpu in it.
I want to replace my processor because the P4 is not dual core.
I read somewhere here:

http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?board_id=1&model=P5AD2-E+Premium&id=20091203232545750&page=1&SLanguage=en-us

that the Pentium Extreme edition 840 955 965 cpu's are dual core and they might work in this board.
I don't want to buy a $200 cpu and it doesn't work. It doesn't say on the asus page cpu support list
about anything other than pentium 4's and celeron D's. Has anyone tried putting a dual core cpu on this board before? If so, did it work and what kind was it? This p4 is getting pretty old and is becoming slow and incompatible. Thanks for any help.
