I have just installed XP and cannot figure out how to set my system to open
a new window in an enlarged screen. It only opens up a small screen about 2"
x 3" and is very annoying. It was suggested to me to put the window in the
upper left hand corner and then "drag" it larger and then close from the
file menu, but this didn't help. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

New window sizes should be the same as the last window size when the
windows was closed last. Example: open IE (one window only), resize it,
then close it. The next time you open IE, the window should be that size.

In Explorer, you can force it to remember several other options like
column width by ctrl+clicking on the close button in the corner. I do
this to the control panel after I set all folders to show detail view.
