I'm a newbie when it comes to video cards. THERE ARE SO MANY TO PICK FROM. Anyway, I'm looking to build my own system and was wondering what kind of video card I should get. I leaning towards the Asus A7V133 mobo with a 1ghz Athlon CPU. What video card do you recommend for this setup? I want a reliable card. Not a heavy gamer though, probably will be in college though.

From what you specified the radeon would be good. Do features like video in and video out seem to be of interest. If those are important you would want to get the radeon 64 VIVO. If not go for the 32mb ddr or the radeon LE. The radeon VE is for dual monitors. As for Nvidia's cards the Geforce 2 mx200 is the bottom line card. The mx400 would be next then the GTS 32, GTS 64, Pro, ultra then the Geforce 3 is top of the line.

I just chose the MSI geforce 2 pro 64mb ddr w tv out card. They have the full throughput of the geforce (unless you want to pay $200 for an ultra.) and they are going for $135 now on pricewatch.

I know just enough to be dangerous.
