Hi everyone,

One of my buddy had asked me if his motherboard could fit 2 x "Ati 7970 Direct CU II" on his motherboard + enclosure?
I am also a little shocked myself since "ASUS Direct CU II" takes up 3 x slots each! *Gulp* 3 freaking slots!!!

For me, I don't know how I am going to answer his question, so he asked me to write this post for him.

To be honest, he's not a forum chatter...

His Desktop Enclosure: Antec P280 Series

GPU: 2 x Ati 7970 Direct CU II (Considering Compatibility)

Motherboard: Asus Rampage IV Formula

Could anybody shed some lights for him? I am also out of words and I can't help him since I don't have a GPU which he's going to BUY!

Many Thanks!

I highly reccomend not buying a CUII from Asus, they have been having alot of issues, I bought one, gave me trouble, newegg does not stock anymore AND the return is refund ONLY. that does not bold well for that card. 7950 CUII also had issues I heard if you google.

I just purchased a HIS 7970 Ice Q 2 x to replace mine... can let u know next week how it is... my 2 cents

Hi snocker,

Thanks for highlighting the issue regarding ASUS HD 7970 Direct CUII GPUs. I had a look @ Google Engine - HOLY Smoke! There sure is problems with this GPU.
I better warn my buddy...

Anyway, I will recommend your ATi HIS 7970 ICE 2x Edition to my friends. But, I will also look at these as they are designed to look slim and doesn't take 3 slots like the ASUS Direct CUII Edition.

If anybody has these GPUs, please tell / share your experience for my friends. I will also pass these information to him aswell...

Many Thanks!
