I'm looking at one of the AT&T resellers with a
cheap prepaid plan. I can either use a Nokia 5165
I already have or get an Ericsson 588/788 series from
them. The Nokia has worked well for me but I would
prefer a flip phone. Does anyone know how they
compare in terms of reception? Is there any reason
one is better than the other for SMS, battery life,
or other reason? I will use it more for SMS but
also voice, mostly in the Triangle area of North
Carolina and on Martha's Vineyard and Cape Cod. The
Nokia has worked fairly well with some dead zones
in both areas.

Any comments are welcome.

I had a 5160i and the 788 liked them both, either is ok. I preferred the
788. The buttons and display are bigger on the Nokia, the 788 fits in
pocket.

On the other hand thye Nokia has a MUCH longer lasting battery & is still in
production if the battery should need replacing.
