CMPSU-VS550 Corsair PSU, is it good?

Hey I went to a store, and they said that the CMPSU-VX 550, is still new in Australia so they can't get it yet. So they offered me a psu called
CMPSU-VS550
http://hardwire.in/776-corsair-vs-550-power-supply-unit.html
more info: http://www.skycomp.com.au/item/CORSAIR-550W-VS-550-ATX-Power-Supply--120mm-fan--2x--6-2-pin-PCIE--4x-SATA--4x-Molex--Single.aspx
, Does anyone know anything about this power supply? Is it reliable since I've heard good things about corsair, and apparently this is new...

Or is there something better recommended?
  2. Corsair does not sell a bad psu, so I would not worry.
If you are looking at alternatives, check this list of tiered quality psu's:

Yeh i don't see this VS series anywhere, neither in the official corsair sites. Only in a few sites which is recently posted.
    But I guess I'll try this VS550
  4. The VS series is based on CWT's GPA design, which is a very low end design and uses JunFu caps, which aren't very good. Low efficiency is another disadvantage.
The GPA series only goes up to 500W, so Corsair is again inflating the wattage number on the label.
It is in fact worse than the CX series.

The CMPSU-VX 550 is definitely not new, probably the reason it is not available to you is that it has been discontinued.

    This is much better:

The 550W version would also be much better.

    Corsair's web site states:

Builder Series™ VS450 — 450 Watt High Performance Power Supply

    VS450: the entry-level 240V power supply with high-end features.

The Corsair VS450 is a great choice if you’re building a home or office system with lower power demands, but you still demand the compatibility and reliability that Corsair is known for.
NOTE: Available in the Asian market only.
