1055t on a Biostar AT970XE mobo that I've been mildly overclocking. I actually have had it on stock settings though for about 24hrs. I just noticed in CPU-Z that my frequency had dropped from about 3.6 DOWN TO 960mhz!!!

Then I noticed that sometimes it jumps back to 3.6 for a couple secs, then back to 960mhz!

As we speak it seems to be stuck back at 960mhz.

I've gone into my BIOS and everything seems normal and set up the way I normally have it.

Any ideas?

Play a game or do something CPU intensive and check CPU-Z again. The chip is probably clocking down to save energy. However, if you start a game and the clocks don't jump back up to 3.6GHz, then something is wrong.

That's what AMD calls cool&quit, Intel names it speedstep and there is nothing to worry about. The CPU clock is adjusted to the work load to keep it cool and save energy.

The CPU goes from 800 MHz to 3200 MHz, check AMD VISION Energy savings, check if is enabled the Max and Min.
This helps the CPU to not be running at full clock all the time.
