Hello,
I have a dell latitude c610 laptop with internal CD-RW which is not reading any CD kept in it. Now the operating system on it has corrupted and I wish to install win xp on it from my desktop CD ROM drive networked with a LAN Crossover cable to the laptop.
Please help me on how to carry out this process so that the laptop can read the installation files from my desktop CD-ROM drive.

will not work the cd needs to run directly on the computer.

does the c610 allow you to boot of the USB drive? If yes you could create a bootable USB flash drive with a copy of XP on it.
