I can afford to get them both, but what exactly would I benefit greatly from while using my 3770k? This is what I do:

-Heavy Gaming (128 man servers on BF3) (F yeah!)
-Extreme multi-tasking while using 16GB 1600 ram (keeping around 40 things open)
- Rendering around 15 minute 1080p videos often
- Tons of downloading
- Keeping it on 24/7 for a server (I know this is bad but my current i3 2100 has done it for a year now)
- Keeping it cool
- Not bottlenecking my 7950 3GB (Currently is, BF3 is terrible with this i3!)
- General buttrape

The i7-3770k has HT. The only thing you are doing that will use it is video rendering as long as the program you are using is designed to make use of HT.

Sont Vegas, PhotoShop, After Effects and Cinema 4D should be able to use HT. Not sure about Camtasia. FRAPS? No, not to the best of my knowledge.

YOU WILL DEFINITELY WANT AN i7!
Cinema 4D, Vegas, AE, and PS will see huge increases with the i7!

I also have a feeling that BF3 is multithreaded, in task manager all 8 threads are being used when playing BF3.

I would use MSI Afterburner over FRAPS.
