Difference between Refurbished and not

Hey what are the differences between this Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 and this Sapphire Radeon HD 6950

Since one is refurbished and one isn't, can you tell me if I should opt for the refurbished one or for the HD 6870(it's at the same price of the refurbished one on that site)?

refurbished means as follow:-

1)The product had a defect and has gone back the manufacturer to be fixed
2)a consumer buys a product from a retailer and returns it and the manufacturer has 3)a policy it must be returned directly back to manufacturer for inspection before resale
3)demo units from a retailer may be returned to the manufacturer to be repackaged and resold
4)there may be damage to the packaging in shipping and sent back to the manufacturer for inspection
5)maybe that gpu that have some problems before and has been fixed and made like an new gpu

there is nothing wrong with refurbished gpus they are good .

non refurbished means its an new card will all thing fine there is nothing damaged.

but in my opinion you should go with that sapphire hd 2gb oc one that one is better then that refurbished one in performance its cooling is very nice and overclocking is very good and also you can change it in to hd 6970 from hd 6950.

true. but be careful s you by refurb products as they might have some defects that the manufacturer did not discover.

Refurbs will often have a different (shorter, more limited) warranties, and different return policies. You'll want to make sure you don't get something with only a 30 day warranty, because that's barely enough time to troubleshoot a problem if you have one.

Well, they are not similar cards since the new card is the OC edition and has 2GB of VRAM whereas the refurbished card is the reference edition and has 1 GB of VRAM. I say go for the new card. Refurbished products are sometimes not inspected well at all and thrown back in the market with known problems hoping that the consumer does not notice or does not care. For example, a refurbished video card may have a very noisy fan that makes a grinding noise, this is annoying but it does not prevent the card from working and hence legally, the item is fit for use and can be sold as refurbished.
