System Stutter Question

Just recently my system has been stuttering at random times. Sometimes it freezes for a second, while sometimes it totally freezes for 10-15 seconds (can't even move my mouse). I've tried looking at the CPU usage in Windows Task Manager, but i don't see anything consistently spike up. Is there a way to get a detailed CPU usage to find out what program is causing this to happen?

Run a hard drive test in DOS...Ultimate Boot CD etc...

I own computer shops that also do repairs...

Commonest two reasons for hesitations... Failing hard drives and Viruses...

Cpus either work or don't, and you said no spikes...
