Too much?

Hey everyone. First I want to apologize for a noob question that is about to be asked. I just recieved a lenovo y570, that will mostly be used for college. I wanted to game just a bit on it, so i hooked it up to a 23 inch acer monitor. At first i was a bit upset because the image was blurry due to my native screen res being 1368, and the monitor being 1080. I figured out how to change the monitor res only, and my only concern is the graphics card. Will me putting the res on this monitor at 1920x1080 burn out my graphics card, or any other part of the computer? Just dont want to ruin my brand new laptop.

no not at all. It might impair performance a little bit if you're playing games and your graphics card can't handle the higher resolution but for standard desktop work it'll be fine

I tried it and it did lower my fps just a tad, but it's worth it. My biggest concern was just if It was going to stress my card too much. Thanks for the help!
