Any scope for reducing the total price by modifying the selections ? I am trying to add in the vertex 120gb SSD into this setup
its 79$ need to cram that in..

I guess the PSU wouldn't be an option if I plan to OC the CPU and crossfire the 7850s OCed.

actually it would work. the 7850 uses less than 110w at full load. even if you run 2 of those and overclock them, they should rack you up at 250w. the cpu doesnt even draw that mch power even if it is overclocked (heat output isnt power draw)

Actually, 520W PSU is not enough. Just because it uses that much power doesn't mean the PSU can be that little.
July 4, 2012 11:07:58 PM

its viable to me but you can go a little more to around the 600w to be on your safe side
July 4, 2012 11:20:41 PM

i know that, but it works with a 550w :D .

ok fine, change to a 650w if you want crossfire
July 4, 2012 11:23:33 PM

Do you have a 7850 by any chance?
July 4, 2012 11:34:18 PM

Ok, just wondering.

Thats 62 $
This one from nicx seems like a good deal its not modular but its corsair.
Would it be a mess to have a non modular PSU in a case like corsair 400 ?

If yes then I would stick to the antec modular one 74 $

I am not quite confident about this PSU though.

For the SSD OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

IS the above one really worth getting especially because of the July 4th sales or
Should I go for a 60GB SSD ? If so which would you suggest now ?

I am planning to use it for gaming alone.

Any suggestions ?
July 4, 2012 11:46:30 PM

No, I have a non-modular PSU in a 500R and all the cables can be tucked away. I have cable managed them, but had to take out the MOBO to heat the aftermarket HSF I bought. Too lazy to tuck them behind again. :p
July 5, 2012 12:07:21 AM

ok so its the corsair then ! what about the SSD any suggestions ?
July 5, 2012 12:08:45 AM

64GB Crucial M4, but on your budget, I don't recommend it.
July 5, 2012 12:21:42 AM

you can pick up one of those 30gb SSDs and use Intel SRT. basically, you use the small ssd to cache the hard drive. you almost get SSD speeds with it

Do you guys think I am missing a lot in this deal ??

If not I will defer and buy a 64 gb SSD later hope it would be sufficient
for the OS and 1-2 games. the reason I had it in my list was because
of the savings but if thats not a mandatory SSD that I should get then
I will wait .
July 5, 2012 2:04:15 AM

the SSD is very fast but it is rather unreliable. read through the bad reviews

Thanks guys !
